21.6.18 Wanna buy some merchandise?

Hello lovelies!

Whilst browsing “the web” I had a sudden spark of inspiration and set up an account on teepublic ( https://www.teepublic.com/user/bluemerkitten ) which is basically an online store that I can upload images to and it will turn them into items for sale (t-shirts, mugs, stickers, etc). I’ve no idea if it’s something any of you would be interested in and it wasn’t something I had really thought about before but I’ve done it now so let’s see what happens next haha.

Currently I only have one photo uploaded to be used on different products. I’m going to run a poll on my Patreon to pick out some of my most popular images and then upload them as well. Honestly I’m just curious to see if anyone is interested in merchandise with my face on it.

So it’ll likely be a mix of SFW & NSFW images that can be plastered onto t-shirts or whatever you want 😀

18.6.18 More Updates

Hello Lovelies!

I’ve got a few things I want to update you on so bear with me, I may end up going on a few tangents, haha.

Kickstarter:

There are 28 days remaining. Currently at 42% funded. If you’ve already pledged then I honestly can’t thank you enough, if you haven’t and you’re thinking about doing it then now is the time.

Patreon:

Hello to my new Patrons! You’ll be excited to hear I still have soooo much content to post, some very fun and exciting things :3 Plus if you happen to have been supporting me for at least 2 months you’ll be getting entered into a raffle to win a free signed print at the start of next month! This raffle is one of my newest rewards and will take place every 2 months 😀 I’m also looking forward to organising more shoots as soon as I can put together new outfits and interesting locations.

Modelling in General:

If you’ve been keeping up with my rambling ten you’ll have already seen that I was lucky enough to be published – alongside the wonderful Jazz – in an indie magazine this month ^_^

I’m still ridiculously excited about this and I might never shut up about it but the even more exciting news is now that it’s published I’ll be able to share the rest of the photos from that shoot ;p so my Patrons are in for a real treat.

Life Updates:

I seem to be having more dental related pain so I may be heading towards getting another tooth pulled out 😦 which won’t be fun but I’ll just have to wait and see what the dentist thinks.

Had a slight lack of inspiration lately, so in order to get some fresh ideas I’ll be going charity shop hunting in the next couple of weeks ^_^ Seeing as wearing the same clothes can get very boring very fast for modelling I tend to try and buy things either on sale or from charity shops. It helps keep costs down whilst keeping my shoots new and interesting. So if you’re following me on social media you’ll likely be inundated with pictures when I do begin my hunt haha.

I’ve also got a “first” coming up next week, it’ll be my first time doing jury duty. Which is kind of cool. Bit of a nuisance to lose a day but should be an interesting experience 🙂

Pet Update:

Gremlin the Slime King (axolotl) is doing great but we’re probably going to find him better things to hide behind. His tank is still quite bare.

Fluffy (ball python) is back to her usual self and as cuddly as ever ^_^

12.6.18 Recent Photo Shoot – Street Beauty

Hey again Lovelies!

Wanted to give you a little update on a recent shoot I had. A really fun city street photo shoot that resulted in me trailing flowers where I walked haha.

Working with the wonderful Becky for the second time – check her out:

PurplePort: https://purpleport.com/portfolio/holeynphotogaphy/

Instagram: @holeyn_photography

Website: www.holeyn.com

She had clearly done her homework. When Andy (the best chaperone in the world) and I arrived, Becky had already picked out key spots and had plenty of ideas for each of them. Her energy whilst shooting is fantastic. Honestly couldn’t stop myself from smiling as she was busying around trying to get every tiny detail perfect.

We’re pretty convinced she can control the weather as well. At one point during the shoot it was just a bit too bright so Becky had said something along the lines of “ok now we just need a little cloud over the sun for just a minute” and then perfectly in time for her to get the shot a bit of cloud passed over the sun! Clearly she’s magic haha.

Plus her pictures are beautiful. So far I’ve only seen the raw photos but honestly I wouldn’t have thought they even needed editing, they all looked fabulous. I’m so excited to get them back properly so I can share them with you lovelies ^_^

But of course I’ll only be sharing a few publicly – to get access to all of my photos you’d have to sign up to my Patreon ( https://www.patreon.com/BlueMerkitten ).

Speaking of Patreon I want to give a super quick update. First of all I currently have content scheduled to be released every Friday until sometime in the middle of July xD which is awesome. Secondly I’ll be drawing the first print winner at the start of July, so if you’ve been a Patreon for 2 months on the 1st of July you have a chance of winning a free signed print!

Other super quick update – Kickstarter progress – 31% funded with 34 days to go ( http://kck.st/2LaXljS ).

That’s all for now ^_^

5.6.18 Kickstarter Update

Hello Lovelies,

I figured it’s been a little while since I pestered you about my Kickstarter so that’s what I’ll be talking about today ^_^

http://kck.st/2LaXljS — Link to project

There are now 41 days remaining. That’s 41 days to get fully funded or go home. Currently I’m 24% funded so there’s still a fair bit to go. If you haven’t already pledged and you’re able to, it really would mean the world to me.

Plus one of the cool things about Kickstarter is that you don’t pay anything until the project is fully funded. So if you pledge now you wouldn’t have to pay anything for at least another 41 days. Even then it’s only if it’s successful – which I really hope it will be.

If this project is successful it could be the start of some very exciting things. There’s the potential that this project will create a set that gets chosen immediately (super unlikely, but I can dream) and then I’m officially a “Suicide Girl”. From there I’ll be looking to create more sets and get more involved with the SG community in general. Which will mean tons of awesome content for you guys ^_^

So really you lovelies could be setting me off on one of my dream paths.

I’ll likely make a vlog about this as well because I know not everyone likes blogs, so keep an eye out for that.

Quick update on shoots:

I’ve got another shoot with Becky on Sunday, we’re going for a super edgy/attitude style of shoot and I’m really looking forward to it 😀

Have some bonus selfies xD

1.6.18 Thoughts and Feelings

Hello Lovelies, today’s post was going to be about my recent shoot in Edinburgh and technically still is however I won’t really be talking about the photo shoot. Instead I’d like to talk about what I experienced whilst I was walking around Edinburgh getting my photo taken.

I’m going to try not to let this turn into a rant but there’s still a good chance that’s exactly what it will become, so you can’t say I didn’t warn you.

Whilst walking around Edinburgh finding different spots to take photos we encountered some unpleasant members of the public. Always a risk you take when going out and about for a shoot – I know. However I don’t think I should just shrug it off without at least mentioning it.

As we were getting ready to take some photos by a phone box an older gentleman began walking towards us – seeing as we’re nice considerate people we moved out of the way to let him pass – he then began saying something which I honestly couldn’t make out as his speech was very slurred and muddled. It’s likely he was drunk. Which is no excuse frankly. The little that we could make out was along the lines of “grow up”, some remark about what I was wearing and then pointing to my hair. Doing my best not to react we walked away and for a minute he looked like he would follow us. I had said “hope you have a good day sir” because being polite to rude people always makes them mad to which he replied along the lines of “fuck off”. We waited a few minutes and then returned to the phone box to get the pictures we wanted.

Now I know that isn’t very traumatic or exciting but I don’t want to have traumatic or exciting stories when it comes to being harrassed on the street. His behaviour was unacceptable and that’s all I wish to highlight.

A little later we were in Grassmarket and experienced some heckling. This one really wasn’t anything more than a troll but it still irritated me so I’m telling you about it, sorry not sorry.

A gentleman likely not much older than me, I’d guess late 20’s at most, yelled over “I’d love to rub cheesecake all over you” (i might be making it into a proper sentence but the important part was the cheesecake part). This one was just weird. I had no idea how to react to it and we were all baffled as to why you would waste a cheesecake like that. Again I just want to highlight that you shouldn’t be doing this kind of thing.

We also got to experience a stereotype come true when some construction workers wolf whistled at me – that one was quite amusing but still not cool. Honestly I’m just amazed to have lived through that, I thought that only happened in cartoons, tv shows or adverts.

The last negative experience I had with the general public is a little harder to pin down. People were staring. Now again, I’m out in public getting photos taken whilst having blue hair and looking adorable – I should expect people to stare. However it was the fact that so many people were staring and even when I caught their eye to make them aware of the fact that I knew they were staring, they just continued to stare. Plus it wasn’t just during my shoot, it was when I was just walking around with Andy. Even Andy was getting annoyed by the number of people blatantly staring. We both have coloured hair, we’re both used to getting looks off strangers but this was a whole new level and neither of us liked it.

It might seem like I’m getting worked up over nothing and granted everything that happened was fairly minor and I only felt vaguely threatened by the older seemingly drunken gentleman but I hate that this sort of behaviour is normal and that I should expect to deal with it. The other thing to remember is that this happened in broad daylight whilst I had 2 other people with me. So yeah, this turned into a bit of a rant but in fairness I did warn you that it might.

Putting that aside, my shoot went really well. The weather was lovely. Andy and I had some great food and I’m really looking forward to seeing how the pictures turn out.
