Personally I’m all for people coming together to accomplish a goal and bring something new into the world. It’s exciting and makes me feel like I’m a part of something.
But I think some people aren’t super fond of it and that’s fair enough. We don’t all have to like the same things or whatever.
The reason it’s been on my mind is that I’m thinking about using Kickstarter to raise funds to cover a specific photo shoot I want to do. And if it’s successful then maybe I would continue to use Kickstarter to fund special projects. I’m just concerned people might respond negatively to me using Kickstarter
So this is just a little ramble to express my current thoughts and hopefully hear some of yours?
On a more fun note, here’s a little MerMay update!
It’s day 4 which means it’s all about the sparkle – which is perfect when you have a night out on the same day. Unfortunately you’ll have to wait to see what today’s look is. For now you’ll just have to settle for the past 3 days 😀
Day 1: Moon
Day 2: Queen
Day 3: Shells
Having great fun with #MerMay so far. What do you lovelies think?
Make sure to follow me on instagram and Patreon to keep up to date ^_^
So I’ve been thinking about a few different ideas in regards to my Patreon and I’ve decided I’m going to make a few changes. Nothing too drastic don’t worry. Just a few changes to make things easier for me and better for my Patrons.
I’ll be aiming to put these changes into effect for the end of May.
Win A Print!
Every second month I’ll be doing a raffle for my patrons and one lucky winner will get a free signed print sent to them. In order to be eligible for the raffle participants must have been a patron for at least 2 months prior to entry. This means people can’t just sign up for the day of the draw and then delete their pledge once the winner is announced. The print will be selected randomly and could be SFW or NSFW (winner will be contacted to ensure NSFW is ok). Best make sure your address/contact info is up to date!
Changes To Public Content
I’ll be cutting down on my public content. In the future I’ll only be releasing one or two preview images and the rest will be Patron only access. This will allow me to provide more content for my Patrons ^_^
I understand this might not be a popular decision but I think it’s the right way to go 🙂 I had considered adding an extra tier and restricting my NSFW content to a higher price but for now I won’t be doing that although that may change in the future. Of course all of my Patreon Lens content would still be available for the $1 tier so I wouldn’t be removing all NSFW content even if I did add a separate tier for it.
Another idea I thought might be good to try out is vlogging. I’d aim to have at least one vlog a week to start off and then maybe look at getting it to one a day? Maybe that’s a little too enthusiastic but we’ll see. No idea what they’ll be about. Most likely I’ll just ramble about recent shoots and cute outfits ^_^ This will likely be an early release for Patrons but will be released to the public after a few days.
So keep an eye out for that.
What do you think?
Those are my current ideas but I’d love to hear what you lovelies think. Any feedback is appreciated and all comments will be considered x
So as some of you may be aware certain months/events can be accompanied by specific art challenges. One of these challenges that takes place during the month of May is “#MerMay”. What’s MerMay? Well it’s an entire month dedicated to all things mermaid! Usually this is just an art kind of thing and results in some gorgeous pictures, however I figured I’d have a go at making it a daily photo challenge. So for the month of May I’ll be attempting to post selfies/photos that are prompted by the #MerMay challenge.
I’ve put together my own prompt list, inspired by the ones I found via a quick Google search and now all that’s left is to get started! So wish me luck and follow along. I’ll be posting daily photos on my Patreon, Instagram and Facebook (links at the bottom) and feel free to join in the fun.
My second shoot with Lee Jones (aka Radiomoths) as photographer and my first time working with the fabulous Jazzebell. Which came about due to the fact that they were both staying with me for a little while and Jazz wanted to get some water themed images. So the only logical thing to do was have a water fight in a small paddling pool between rain showers haha.
We started the day by decorating some water guns. Turning them into the most appropriate weapons for this particular shoot. Extra glitter and stickers obviously.
With our weapons complete next came our outfits. Swimsuits, sunglasses and a t-shirt to try and keep warm – after all it was only 9 degrees outside. Funnily enough I had managed to match my bikini to the hair bow I was wearing as well as my eyeshadow.
We then began moving the props into position, unfortunately I forgot to lift my phone so I don’t have any selfies to share of the actual shoot. But Lee and Jazz got plenty so I’ll be sure to link to their pictures ^_^
Once we were thoroughly soaked through and freezing we ran back inside to have a shower and warm up. Light bulb! Shower shoot! So on top of the water fight Jazz and I got to have even more fun splashing around in the shower. Which was my first fully nude shoot! How exciting is that xD
Finally we settled down and ordered some food, the pictures all look amazing and I can’t wait to share them with you ^_^
This was my first time working with Lee but he’s a photographer that I’ve been dying to work with for far too long haha. If you happen to be a Catty regular then there’s a good chance he’s taken your picture at some point.
This shoot was mostly just for fun and didn’t really have a particular theme. It was definitely more of a “getting to know you” kind of day. We wandered around Glasgow Green and down some back streets taking pictures of anything that caught our eye.
Would love to work with Lee again, the pictures we got were fantastic plus he got them back to me in no time at all! Which is amazing. Absolute pleasure to work with.
I now have the pleasure of hosting for both Lee and Jazz as they continue on their tour, which is super cool. They’ve been fantastic and even made an awesome vegan hoisin duck dinner ^_^
