Hey lovely humanoids!
I wanted to talk about something that’s been bothering me for the last while…well for quite a long while actually. I am terrified of being kicked off of social media platforms like Instagram for being too “sexy”.
Some of you may remember when I panicked and went through and deleted anything on my Instagram account that could be considered even a little bit NSFW. Since then I’ve been posting as SFW content as I can and then the pandemic meant that I was mostly posting selfies…so it’s gotten to a point where my account feels more like a personal account than a professional one…and I don’t like that.
I don’t like that I’ve felt so scared of losing my account that I haven’t posted my more “exciting” photos. But I’ve watched as so many other accounts do. And it feels like I’m letting the team down by letting my fears get the better of me.
So I think I’m going to go back to posting some more “risque” selfies every now and then because I have so many that I love and feel great about but I’m just so worried about getting shadow banned or deleted that I don’t post them.
I am so sick of whorephobia and skewed moralistic nonsense being used to censor people that want to celebrate their bodies (and heaven forbid make some money from it). So yeah, enough is enough and I’m going to stop letting my fears get the better of me.
Obviously all of my fully NSFW/explicit content will remain behind a paywall or on an adult site but I’ll go back to posting some more fun teasers.
How do you feel about the censorship levels on social media? Do you notice many people being shadowbanned or their accounts being deleted? Or do you generally avoid the “sexier” side of social media?
I’m always curious to hear different people’s experiences.
